What is Drone Soccer?
Drone soccer is a fast-paced indoor sport where teams of five fly crash-resistant quadcopters in a netted arena, ramming and blocking to score. Pilots first learn to build, code, fly, and repair drones—gaining hands-on skills for careers in aviation.
How It Works
BUILD
Assemble drone components and learn how to create your own flying machine from scratch using essential tools and materials.
CODE
Program the drone’s flight controller with open-source software, learning the fundamentals of coding and how to make the drone fly precisely.
Providing STEM Education throughout Western PA
We aim to enhance STEM programs in Western Pennsylvania schools by introducing drone soccer—a team-based sport that engages students who might not connect with traditional robotics or esports.
Drone soccer requires 3D thinking, focus, staying calm under pressure, quick decision-making, and strong skills in IT, math, communication, and responsibility—making it a powerful tool for STEM education.
